crossfit: costs too much?

Membership fees for CrossFit gyms can be relatively high compared to traditional gym memberships, which may feel prohibitive for some athletes.

Why is this the case? Mainly, it’s because CrossFit is a completely different experience compared to a traditional gym. Here, you are getting high caliber small-group coaching, top-of-the-line equipment, and effective and constantly varied programming. We invest in our coaches, providing them with the highest-possible pay, benefits, and supporting their ongoing professional development.

Here are some of the steps we’ve taken to ensure you’re getting a return on your investment:

  • Transparent Pricing Structure: We provide clear and transparent information about membership fees. Our unlimited membership provides access to all locations for maximum flexibility. We avoid any hidden fees or unexpected charges to build trust with our athletes.

  • Flexible Pricing Options: We provide flexible pricing options to accommodate different budgetary constraints and preferences. Athletes are able to pay monthly, or get a substantial savings for making a 6-month or 12-month commitment. We offer savings for family members that join together. We honor a reduction in rates for service members and first responders.

  • Flexibility in Onboarding Programs: Our Elements program has both Private and Group options.

  • Financial Assistance: To encourage inclusivity and to make fitness accessible to everyone, we look for ways to partner with our athletes to help them afford the costs of membership, while also giving back to our community. We host a weekly class for teenagers (11-18 y/o) which is completely subsidized through the Police & Sheriffs’ Athletic League (PAL).

  • Free Introductory Classes: All potential athletes can join a Free Introductory class, to learn the foundations of CrossFit and get a great workout.

  • Yoga for Athletes: We offer a weekly yoga class at less than half the cost ($10 members / $15 non-members) of a comparable yoga class anywhere in San Francisco.

Ultimately, when you make CrossFit part of your lifestyle, you’re investing in your long-term health and productivity. It may sound cliché, but you can’t afford NOT to do it.
