  • Yoga at a CrossFit Gym?

Your first thought may be: these are two different modes of fitness, two different tribes. But then, once you try it, you know. A regenerative yoga practice is exactly what the CrossFit athlete needs to expand, repair, and get ready for the coming week of WODs. Isometric holds, breath work, challenging the core. It’s all there for you at our Sunday evening yoga practice. Cancel your pre-dinner plans, and come roll out your mat in our airy, candle-lit space.

  • Mel Paz

Mel Paz has been practicing yoga in San Francisco since 1999. She spent years practicing Bikram yoga and eventually moved on to vinyasa flow. She trained with Rusty Wells and CorePower Yoga to complete her 100 hr and 200 hr teacher trainings. In 2018 she packed her bags to do an immersive 300 hr Ashtanga training in India. Her most recent teachers are Carling Nicole and Patrick Beach, and she completed two consecutive 300 hr trainings with them in 2019. Mel’s style of teaching is a combination of all the things she has learned over the years.

“I like to focus my classes on building strength while connecting to your breath in moving meditation.” —Mel Paz

  • what's required?

There are no pre-requisites to attend Yoga for Athletes. Yoga practice, just like CrossFit, is infinitely scalable. That means you can always modify a movement, and then build to a higher level of difficulty as your practice evolves. And you can always take child’s pose. All that’s required is to set aside one hour of your early Sunday evening. Bring a mat, a water bottle. And dress in layers, the box can get chilly in the winter months.
